Thoughinsomepointsofdoctrine,andperhapsofdisciplineIamdiffidentoflendingaperfectassenttothatchurchwhichyouhavesoworthilyhistorified,yetmaytheilltimeneveretome,whenwithachilledheart,oraportionofirreverentsentiment,Ishallenterherbeautifulandtime-hallowedEdifices.Judgethenofmymortificationwhen,afterattendingthechoralanthemsoflastWednesdayatWestminster,andbeingdesirousofrenewingmyacquaintance,afterlapsedyears,withthetombsandantiquitiesthere,Ifoundmyselfexcluded;turnedoutlikeadog,orsomeprofaneperson,intothemonstreet,withfeelingsnotverycongenialtotheplace,ortothesolemnservicewhichIhadbeenlisteningto.Itwasajarafterthatmusic.
